Generously filled at 35cm deep, the Wool Sublime mattress boasts layers of body-contouring pocket springs, layers of natural fillings and a chemical free viscose fabric. The mattress features a traditional hand tufted finish to ensure the fillings stay in place, with a single black tuft in the corner to indicate the use of Hampshire wool. As well as Hampshire wool; one of the softest wools available in the UK, the mattress layers of fillings also include cashgora wool, silk and soft English spun cotton. The interior of the mattress features a unique make-up of 2000 central pocket springs, with 3 x 1500 pocket spring tablet comfort layers on either side. Pocket springs are small in diameter compared to traditional open coils and housed in their own cloth sleeves that are totally independent of any surrounding springs. Reserved for premium mattresses, an added feature is side-stitching; a labour intensive and intricate technique that takes many years for craftsmen to master.. The side-stitching process involves the outer rows of springs being sewn to the mattress border by using high-tension twine and a long upholstery needle. This process ensures the border will not bow out over time, providing edge-to-edge support across the mattress width. This extra support increases the sleeping surface by 20.
