Over the years, the METRO frame has set itself apart with its unique "seamless" construction. Crafted from a ¼" thick MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard), a high-quality composite wood board, the center is meticulously cut out to form the 1 3/4" face of the frame. This innovative design eliminates the need for cut and joined lengths of molding, resulting in a frame devoid of joints at the corners. Following this, a secondary wooden frame is affixed to the back of the MDF. This creates a dedicated space for the glass, matting, and other elements, all secured by our user-friendly "pivot clip" back. The frame is then impeccably finished with a layer of lacquer, available in either a sleek black or a clean white finish. For those seeking a more personalized touch, we also offer the option to custom order an unfinished version.The METRO frame's unadorned elegance and simplicity are its defining features. Like all Framatic frames, it's designed to highlight rather than overshadow the artwork it houses. These frames are engineered to hang from holes in the permanently riveted clips found on the back, attached to the 1/8 hardboard that forms the frame's back. Please note, the photo/glass size refers to the size of the artwork the frame can accommodate, with the frame adding an additional 3 inches overall.
