Description
The period covered by this CD was the beginning of the end as far as Amos Milburn's chart career was concerned. The 1952/53 recording dates were the last commercially successful series of sessions that he would produce. New material from the hottest writers of the day (Leiber & Stoller and Rudy Toombs) was mingled with earlier jazz and blues hits like Trouble In Mind, Flying Home, Please Mr. Johnson, Stormy Weather and Why Don't You Do Right? of which Amos was rightly proud, but didn't sell well
