Description

Gift her an art-inspired women's sleep set. Rest easy-and artfully-in these comfy cotton pajamas, presented in a giftable pouch with a mother-of-pearl enclosure to match the buttons on the top. William Morris (British, 1834-1896) was profoundly inspired by nature as it was depicted across cultures and through time. This exuberant pattern, which he called Wild Tulip (1884), references 17th-century Turkish brocades. Tulips, a species of wildflower indigenous to western Anatolia and eastern Persia, were received as exotic natural treasures when they arrived in 16th-century Europe. One of his 41 wallpaper designs, this motif in The Met collection is exemplary of Morris's late style.
