PFERD TOOLS offers a wide range of coated abrasive tools for the processing of different workpiece geometries and materials. They consist of a backing material, a base bond and a coating bond to which the abrasive grain adheres. Depending on the grain size, coated abrasive tools can achieve high material removal or a very fine surface finish. The backing materials available differ in their properties such as tear resistance, flexibility and wear. With the right base, the grinding tool is adapted to the requirements of the intended application: paper is used in the woodworking industry and in the craft industry, e.g. among carpenters, painters and varnishers, cloth is mainly used in metal processing, and vulcanised fibre is very wear-resistant and is used in different thicknesses mainly for the production of fibre discs.
