The non-scratch rubber wheels only work in a closed position and are designed to not damage the floor. The ladder is also equipped with the "Clic Clac" safety system that does not allow the product to close during use. The "Clic Clac" system is activated by the opening of the step stool; an internal system will lock it into place when done sliding on the side rods, at which time the step stool can be used in complete safety.
