The timber is air-dried and will therefore continue to dry out as it settles into its new environment. You can expect some movement to occur during this time. Each shelf is cut to size and finished in our workshop. This leaves in lots of natural, rustic timber characteristics and features. Mother Nature's own stamp of approval. The oak timbers can have colour variations within the piece. These variations are more prominent on lighter wax finish choices, or the natural oak (unwaxed) option. In this timber, you can expect to find splits, cracks, knots, shakes, waney edges, bows, and twists along with sticker shadows and machine marks in keeping with the rustic style.
