The mains adapter connects the LAPP charging station Universal for electric vehicles directly to an earthed socket - for uncomplicated charging at home or on the road. The cable's type 2 coupling is simply connected to the car, the angled protective contact plug to the socket. The charging process is started and ended automatically by the on-board electronics.
The LAPP charging station is suitable for plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and battery electric vehicles (BEV).

The mobile LAPP Mode 2 charging stations automatically recognise which plug-in charging adapter is being used and the electronics regulate the possible maximum charging power. The interchangeable LAPP plug-in charging adapters are resistance-coded and thus the possible maximum charging power is regulated by the electronics.
