CO2 Fire Extinguisher MED Approved

Description
CO2 fire extinguishers contain pure carbon dioxide and are used mainly on fires involving live electrical equipment or those involving flammable liquids. Carbon dioxide is stored in the canister in liquid form so once it is released into the air it works by starving the fire of oxygen. This ensures the fire no longer burns. The Firechief extinguisher canister has a red body and a black banner running along the top section which labels it CO2 and has a horn-like black nozzle. To use the extinguisher remove the safety pin to break the seal. Aim the horn towards the base of the fire and sweep it side to side unit the fire is extinguished. Always keep an eye on the area in case the fire re-ignites. The British Standard BS5306 Part8:2012 states that extinguishers should be mounted with the handle a specific distance from the ground depending on the overall weight of the extinguisher. This often causes people to believe that this is the only way they can be stored. However the British Standard goes on to state: 'Extinguishers may also be positioned on extinguisher stands fire points or in cabinets in which case these height recommendations need not be followed.' 2kg CO2 fire extinguisher for Class B fires including flammable liquids and electrical hazards Kitemark/LPCD approved to BS EN3 CE marked Lightweight aluminum cylinder Corrosion resistant Harmless to machinery Fitted with a frost-free horn as standard This CO2 fire extinguisher includes a wall bracket 5 year guarantee View our Fire Extinguisher Signs
